Course Reflection

Though its intensity has taken away pieces of my summer 2021, the knowledge I have gained from this “New Media Production” course totally makes up for the fun parts with many benefits to serve along my future career pathway. At the beginning of my Certificate journey, I have accomplished a few projects that maximize the use of handcraft codes, experience building websites on the powerful front-end framework Bootstrap, and get familiar with the Content Management System like WordPress. I believe the slight interaction with Javascript at the end serves as an open door to many other great things to come from the rest of the certificate track and from my own career journey.

Project 1

Plan My Gap Year

This very first project marks down an important milestone of me entering the computing world. From zero knowledge about HTML or CSS, I have learned how to hand-code my first website and use that foundational experience to strive better in the next ones.

Project 2

Vietnamese Food Tour

It is an awesome experience to work with one of the most popular web development front-end frameworks Bootstrap! This project has taught me how to incorporate the responsive and mobile-first features into writing codes. Plus, Inspector Gadgets is the life saver!

Project 3

Give A Care

Moving on to a more powerful version of Bootstrap, WordPress is definitely not an easy system to master as it seems to be. Because of its tremendous power to create and manage multiple contents, WordPress features could be overwhelming sometimes. All in all, my e-commerce shop powered by WordPress using the WooCommerce plugin is one of my proud projects!

Project 4

UPLAY Arcade

This digital playground is an opportunity to challenge ourselves with the official appearance of Javascript in the course. By rewriting 2 out of 30 challenges inspired by Web Bos, I have the chance to work around one of the most populated programming languages in the world.

Final Project

Second Life Toys

This project examines everything I have learned from the start with the challenge of implementing advanced codings. I choose to befriend WordPress once again, as its helpful plugins could help carry out the idea of building a donation-oriented website.
